Riverview School District

Spring 2018 State Testing Results Available Online

Each spring, all Washington public school students in grades 3-8 and in high school are tested in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 are also tested in Science. This testing provides an assessment of student learning in identified content areas, yields data that schools and districts can use for instructional improvement, and meets state and federal assessment requirements.

Riverview School District parents and guardians can now view their student's results from the Spring 2018 state tests online. In the past, the District was dependent on receiving hard copy, final score reports from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), which arrived in late August or early September. OSPI now allows the District to share preliminary scores - which are 99.9% accurate and reliable - with families online. (OSPI considers scores "preliminary" until all scores for the state are processed and reported statewide to districts. While we do not anticipate any score changes, we will contact parents/guardians if/when we receive notice.)

Please note the scores available now are for the Smarter Balanced Assessment ELA and Math exams. The District anticipates receiving the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) and End of Course exams (high school math) from OSPI in the fall. The District will update student score reports in Family Access when they are finalized and available in the fall.

We are excited to provide a secure and efficient reporting option that allows parents/guardians access to results during the summer. If your student(s) took a state assessment with the Riverview School District this spring, his/her results are now available via Family Access in Skyward. This is the same account used for checking attendance and grades. (Login directions are provided below).

Parents who do not have access to a computer or internet access, can receive a paper copy of their child's results by contacting their child's school office in late August.
