Stillwater Elementary Named Best Public Elementary School
by Readers of 425 Magazine
Each year, the editors of 425 Magazine reach out to their readers to vote for “The Best of 425” - an expansive look at the readers’ favorites in more than 100 individual categories, under 10 specific headings, including the best in food, arts and entertainment, shopping, health and wellness, and other community standouts.
This year, readers of 425 Magazine looked beyond the Bellevues, Kirklands, and Redmonds which typically dominate choices, and voted Stillwater Elementary as the Best Public Elementary School in the region!
In their recognition of Stillwater, the magazine shared that Stillwater, “...prioritizes paying careful attention to the needs of each individual student. This culture allows for personalized academic growth, which Stillwater Elementary alumni can vouch for. With a team of passionate employees, Stillwater offers a supportive environment for children and parents alike.”
“I was so pleased to hear of the recognition by 425 Magazine because of how hard our teachers and staff work to support all students in their classrooms,” said principal Jack Madigan. “Stillwater is a very special place. Our teachers and staff work with students from their areas of strength and interests to build skills and develop other areas of need. We have many talented and caring community members in our PTSA and parents who provide the gift of their time by volunteering in our classrooms every day of the year. It really is a team effort at our school!”

Stillwater Office Manager Karie Cato arranged a school-wide photo to share thanks and gratitude from Stillwater students, staff, and families to the editors and readers of 425 Magazine. A banner now adorns the Stillwater Multipurpose Room, unveiled prior to the end of the school year. At the annual End-of-Year assembly, on the last day of school, Mr. Madigan spoke to students, staff, and families as to why this award holds such significance for the Stillwater Soaring Hawks community.
“We have got the most supportive community of any school in the 425. And to the students...we are committed to bringing out the best in one another. I see you guys working to do that every day and you trust your teachers to help you succeed. And when that trust and love and support is out there, people notice.”
