CARNATION, DUVALL — Riverview School District has received a strong response from people interested in participating in its Planning for the Future listening sessions. Some have asked for additional opportunities to share their perspectives.
In response, the district has added two Spanish-language listening sessions for students: one at Tolt Middle School and one at Cedarcrest High School. The sessions will give Spanish-speaking students additional opportunities to share their experiences and ideas for Riverview schools.
An outside facilitator will lead every Planning for the Future listening session, including the two new sessions for Spanish-speaking students, with translators available to support participation. Input from the listening sessions will inform the work of a new Strategic Planning Committee, which the district is currently forming with students, families, staff and community members.
See the complete listening session schedule below that includes details on the additional student sessions and all other opportunities for students, staff and community members to participate.
Schools are at the heart of any close-knit community. Time and again, the Riverview community shows how deeply it values education. Long-term strategic planning like this may only occur once every several years, and these sessions provide each of us a rare opportunity to help shape the future of Riverview schools.
