An Update Regarding the February 8 Special Election

Like many community members, Riverview School District has been keeping an eye on the election results from the February 8 Special Election. While we have optimism that these latest numbers will hold, we also recognize that these results will have to meet the “50%-Plus-1” vote totals needed for approval. Though we believe a significant majority of the vote count has been reflected in the latest returns posted on Friday afternoon, February 11, 2022, we want to remind our community that ballots continue to be counted through the afternoon of February 18, 2022. Results are then certified by the County Canvassing Board that same day.

At this time, we want to thank everyone who voted in the February 8 Special Election. Voter turnout for Riverview’s ballot propositions is currently the third highest in King County for school district bond and levy elections this year. An engaged community is a stronger community. For everyone who participated in our levy open house events, sent emails, visited our Levy 2022 webpage, called us directly, arranged for personal meetings with district administration, and reached out for additional details and information, we thank all of you for participating in this process.

Above all else, thank you for your vote. As we often say, your vote is your voice, and we appreciate everyone who let their voices be heard.
