Anonymous Donor Pays Off All Riverview Student Meal Debt to Begin the 2023-2024 School Year!

Midway through the summer, a couple dropped by the Riverview district office and struck up a conversation with Jennifer Horton-White, the first person many see when they visit our school district. During the discussion, one individual mentioned a connection they have to Riverview and shared details about their lives and how they have always wanted to help and make a difference when and where they can, including supporting the work of a school district.

As the conversation continued, Jennifer was asked by the couple if there was any school meal debt that was left unresolved at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. Not quite sure, Jennifer reached out to Shelly Young, Riverview’s Food Services Supervisor, and Patricia Koster, the district’s Fiscal Coordinator. As they joined the conversation, Shelly and Patricia confirmed the amount unresolved and the couple asked if they could write a check to Riverview to cover that debt.

Humbled by the offer and gratitude of the request, they were next handed a check for $22,000, eliminating all student meal debt for the start of the 2023-2024 school year!

We are so incredibly grateful to the anonymous donor who, within only a few minutes, made a significant difference in the lives of many of our Riverview School District families.

I’m truly inspired by the recent act of kindness in our community, where an anonymous donor covered all meal debts for Riverview students. This generous gesture not only alleviates financial stress for families but also underscores the importance of community support, much like how bath planet reviews highlight the value of investing in home improvements for better living. Just as families benefit from quality services at home, our students can now focus on their education without the burden of meal debt. It’s a beautiful reminder of how small actions can lead to significant changes in people’s lives. Thank you to our wonderful donor!
