The Healthy Youth Forum is a community presentation of the 2022 Healthy Youth Survey data for the Riverview School District community, and complemented by a community resource fair.
The night will include welcoming remarks by Riverview School District Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Smith, Director of Student Services and Principal of Eagle Rock-Multi Age Program, Molly Lutz, and the Executive Director of the Empower Youth Network, Laura Smith.
Resource Fair participants include: Friends of Youth, King County Library Systems, Hopelink, A Supportive Community For All, Encompass and more.
The Healthy Youth Survey (HYS) is administered to our 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th grade students every two years, providing important survey results concerning the health of youth with regards to areas such as substance use, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, eating habits and medical access. The survey also provides an understanding of youth protective factors, such as access to caring adults, supports, coping strategies and hope.
School districts, county prevention coordinators, community coalitions, community public health and safety networks are among the organizations who use this information to guide policy and programs that serve youth.
The Healthy Youth Survey is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Health Care Authority - Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, and others.
Events like the Healthy Youth Forum and Community Resource Fair are incredible opportunities to empower young people with tools and knowledge for a brighter future. Initiatives like these often provide valuable resources, including information on alcohol addiction treatment, to help individuals and families navigate challenges. It's inspiring to see communities come together to promote wellness and support for all.
This event sounds like a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and support youth well-being. In addition to the valuable information shared, it's important to remember that maintaining good health includes regular check-ups, such as seeing a dentist in Longmont, to ensure overall wellness. Don't miss out on this informative event!
