Tragedy in Fall City
October 21, 2024

Dear Riverview School Community,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to express our sadness over the tragic events in our neighboring community of Fall City, where five lives were lost in an unthinkable act of violence. As a school community, we grieve alongside their families, friends, and neighbors, knowing that the pain and sorrow they are experiencing is unimaginable.

In times like these, we are reminded of the importance of standing together, and in support of one another. Fall City is not just our neighbor, but part of our extended community, and we hold them close in our thoughts as they navigate this immense loss and heartache. We offer them not only our deepest sympathies but also our unwavering support in the days and weeks ahead.

This tragedy serves as a reminder to cherish the connections we share, to check in on one another, and to offer kindness wherever we can. It is in the small acts of care and compassion that we find strength and healing, both for ourselves and for those around us.

If your child needs support in processing this tragic news, please don't hesitate to reach out to your school’s counselors, teachers, or administrators. We are here to help them navigate their emotions and ensure they feel safe and supported.

Please join me in keeping the community of Fall City in our hearts, as we stand with them, united in empathy, sorrow, and hope.
Sincerely,
Dr. Susan Leach
