At Riverview School District, our volunteers play an essential role in enriching the educational experience and fostering a thriving community. Your time and talents help us create a supportive environment where students can excel. To ensure the safety and well-being of our students and staff, all volunteers must complete an application and receive approval before starting their service.

Becoming a Volunteer is Easy:

  • Complete an online volunteer application.

  • Complete a disclosure statement.

  • Review and understand Riverview School District's policies and procedures.

  • Submit a valid photo identification.

  • Enjoy making a difference as a Riverview School District Volunteer.

State law requires all volunteers to pass a background check through the Washington State Patrol. Additionally, volunteers are required to read and understand the Volunteer Handbook before their first day of service.

Approval Timeline

Once submitted, applications are reviewed and processed. Approved volunteers will receive an email confirmation, typically within two weeks. Volunteer status remains valid for two academic years from the approval date.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Athletics: Assisting Coaches or Advisors
Some programs may require additional support for athletic teams or extracurricular activities. If a head coach or activity advisor identifies a need for volunteers, you can apply to serve in this capacity by completing the Volunteer Coach Application.

  • Important: Volunteer coaches must undergo fingerprinting.

Riverview Rec & Rally (Pilot Program for Open Gym/Activities Night): Supervisor

Riverview Rec & Rally, is a new pilot program dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming space for middle school students and older youth to engage in athletics, activities, and social connections. Thanks to the support of our incredible community, we’re kicking things off with Open Nights at Tolt Middle School Gym and club opportunities at Remlinger Farms

Adult community members are essential for supervising activities, fostering positive connections, and ensuring the safety of our youth. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, or simply someone passionate about supporting kids, this is a wat to make a difference.

Student Transportation:  Driver

In most cases, Riverview School District does not allow parents to act as volunteer drivers. However, exceptions may be made under specific circumstances. If you are asked to drive students by a coach or activity advisor:

  1. Complete the online application at least two weeks before the event.

  2. Ensure the coach or advisor collects signed "Permission to Ride in an RSD Approved Volunteer Vehicle" forms from all participating students.
